Working Together for a Common Purpose - Bixby Bicycles, Hope is Oxygen, and Team Suicide Prevention
Team Suicide Prevention and Hope is Oxygen rallied together on Sunday to participate in a charity ride coordinated by Bixby Bicycles. The ride was on the upcoming Tulsa Ironman bike course for 104 miles of amazing climbing and high winds particularly the final 50 mile stretch back to Tulsa after the midpoint in Barnsdall, Ok. If you think you've gone as far as you can, give yourself a minute to look around and give thanks. Then keep going! Kudos to Buster Brown At Bixby Bicycles for his tireless support and generosity in sponsoring this amazing event in support of Team Suicide Prevention and Hope is Oxygen.
If you need help with your bicycle needs, check out Bixby Bicycles where Buster’s team is ready to help you get out on two wheels for fun and fitness.
In addition to the two hundred plus riders, some as far away as 500 miles who came to ride, a NewsOnSix TV crew were there to interview our team’s Co-Captains, Bill Taitano, and Eric Gomez.
NewsOn6 Interview with Co-Captain Bill Taitano (Bill talks about Riding as being therapeutic. Like medicine for the mind reflecting on the life of his beloved daughter, his shining light.)
NewsOn6 Interview with Co-Captain Eric Gomez ( Talks about Ironman training and the mental and physical demands of taking on the challenge and Team Suicide Prevention’s mission to help save lives)
With Race Across America scheduled to start in less than 56 days from today, the team is in full training mode with ride performance recorded today of up to 105 miles. The intense south wind, 4,000’ of climbing, and temperatures climbing in to the mid seventy’s made for an excellent training day to simulate just some of challenges we will face during our 3,000 mile bike race across twelve states this June.
We will be ready to race and represent Tulsa and our gracious supporters, patrons, and sponsors. If you’d like to join our cause to help raise awareness and spread hope regarding Suicide Prevention, feel free to make a tax deductible donation by pressing on this link: DONATE
In the mean time, we ask you all to Stay Safe, and Be Safe.
Thank You
