Out of Darkness Walk
Rain or shine, the show goes on - November 2, 2024.
Thank you Out of the Darkness Committee members for sticking to the plan and providing Tulsa another awesome event regarding Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness.
Thank you Mental Health Association Oklahoma for hosting at the Legacy Plaza.
For Team Suicide Prevention, this was our last event for the year.
Our team of volunteers have done a remarkable job this year making every event for TSP successful.
Our future goal for next year is to bring the ASIST intervention skills workshop training to Tulsa in March 2025.
If you would like to be a part of this training program, please contact Bill Taitano at tsp.bikes@gmail. Our plan is to have 30 individuals participate in this life saving workshop.

A message from Hope is Oxygen
Our fifth & final year together, bringing AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk to Tulsa! And, in spite of our last minute location change & bad weather forecast, they came…because when life hurts, when the loss can seem insurmountable, we find HOPE and HEALING together, in community…Together, we remember and talk about loved ones gone far too soon...and we gather with human beings & organizations that provide tangible help in our time of greatest need. Oklahoma, I am so proud and grateful to be an Oklahoman. TOGETHER, WE REALLY ARE STRONGER!
@hopeisoxygen and it’s amazing volunteers love providing hope each year, our 8th year to table! Thank you, @hollylhildreth @ellaaa.9087 and The Plinsky’s for being there!!!
Over the past 5 years, this important community event has grown to over 1,000 participants, with over 30 Community Resource Organizations, who have become such a vital part of this annual event, providing resources to so many people, while also raising thousands of dollars for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention @afspoklahoma @afspnational on both a local & national level.
As we pass the baton to the next generation of leadership, we are excited to see how they continue to grow this walk to impact even more Oklahomans.
