Walk Out of Darkness
On Saturday, September 24th, Team Suicide Prevention members came together to participate in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Walk Out of Darkness Event held this year in Jenks, Oklahoma. These community events are held in hundreds of cities across the country to bring friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers together to walk side-by-side supporting each other and in memory of those that have been lost to suicide. In doing so, these walks help raise awareness and much-needed funds to strongly sending the message that suicide is preventable, and that no one is alone.
The Saturday event brought together over 30 plus Suicide Prevention Organizations including Team Suicide Prevention where over $41,000 in donations were raised. It was a beautiful day for this emotional group of families, friends, and organizations. Members of Team Suicide Prevention helped spearhead this wonderful event and we were happy to participate along side of two of our wonderful partner organizations that we support, the Coffee Bunker and Hope Is Oxygen. Linda Pulver, Heather Guier Borsuk, Trish Guier, along with many others were instrumental towards the success of this event. A special shout out to Carter Newcomb and April Myer who did an outstanding job representing Team Suicide Prevention at our team’s booth.
If you have not done so, please check out the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s website by clicking on the image below for information regarding their many and very important offerings and critical services to fight suicide.
Team Suicide Prevention sincerely thanks you for your continued support to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention.
