Team Suicide Prevention Spreading Hope
Team Suicide Prevention Giving Back To Spread Hope
This has been an exciting week for Team Suicide Prevention prevention. During June 2021, the eight racers and 8 crew of Team Suicide Prevention raced the 3,037 miles from Oceanside, California to finish in Annapolis, Maryland in 7d 19h 34m with the mission to Race to Help Save Lives and Spread Hope Across America. During our journey across thirteen states riding day and night, we experienced incredible opportunities to meet and/or interact with hundreds of individuals. Not only did we focus on spreading our message of hope and healing, we also listened to countless life stories of challenges and hardships regarding mental health and suicidality that so many individuals and families are struggling through. It’s those individuals and families’ stories that have fueled our hearts and souls to take on this challenge. The team would like to extend our sincere thanks to our gracious supporters who have provided prayers, moral support, and financial support to this cause which has enabled Team Suicide Prevention to initiate our Team Suicide Prevention Give Back to Spread Hope initiative in the form of $5,000 donations each to Linda Pulver, Founder of Hope is Oxygen and Dr. Michael Horton, Executive Director at The Coffee Bunker. Team Suicide Prevention could not have asked for two better partners to focus our efforts on to help save lives and spread hope.
Let’s learn more about these two amazing organizations that have made a difference in so many lives of individuals and families.
In the words of Linda Pulver, founder of Hope is Oxygen
We live in a beautiful, yet broken world, where none of us are exempt from suffering. Thankfully, HOPE is and has been like life-giving, powerful oxygen to our family through times of suffering.
My name is Linda Pulver. Since 2017, I’ve been the Director of HOPE IS OXYGEN. I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. I am married to my best friend – my husband of over 30 years. We have three adult daughters, a son-in-law, and three grandsons. Two faithful dogs share our empty-nest. We love and have a passion for LIFE.
I have been in need of God’s life-Sustaining HOPE many times. For me, it’s been through these times that the HOPE God gives, and the HELP provided by a very Supportive Community, and Mental health professionals sustained me.

Coffee Bunker : Our mission is to support veterans and service members in their transition to civilian life through personal and professional development.
Coffee Bunker is here to meet veterans “where they are,” and help with the transition to family and community life. We are Tulsa’s only peer run drop-in center, and we provide a family friendly, alcohol-free and drug free environment. Our 3500 square foot facility is set up for veterans and their families to get together, use computers, access Wi-Fi, enjoy games and group activities, watch TV or movies and just hang out.
In our continued efforts to reach all veterans, we find it important to meet them right where they are in their lives. We strive to connect them with the resources and advantages the Tulsa community has for them. We believe in bringing Coffee Bunker to our veterans in order to give them an opportunity to know there is a special place for them to call their own, and to find how we and our sister resources can help them.
We provide a safe and relaxing atmosphere that welcomes all military servicemen and women, as well as their family members. Our services are provided free of charge
